I think that a key rack is one of the most important things to put in your house. Maybe that is just because if I didn't have one, I would never have my keys and would send half my time looking for them! When we moved into our condo, we wanted a fun key rack instead of the traditional one we had before. We went to the dollar store and saw this big bin of plastic toy animals and we knew exactly what we wanted to do! And out came our toy animal key rack!
[What you need]
5 toy animals
grey spray paint (or whatever color you want!)
5 screws
a piece of molding about 12" long, or however long you need to fit all your animals
hangers to attach to the back
epoxy (only if your animals are hollow, if they are solid you don't need it)
a tiny very strong magnet (if you use a shark like we did!)
white paint
[What to do]
Cut your animals in half. If they are solid, you are good to go! If they are hollow, fill them with epoxy so you have something to screw into. Next, glue the magnet into the mouth of the shark if you are using one. Then spray paint all your animals the same color.
Take you molding and paint it all white and attach the hangers on the back so you can hang it on the wall. Then lay out and mark where you want all your animals to go and screw them onto the board.
Hang it up and you are ready to stop loosing your keys!
