The BEST Pizza Dough Ever!

Pizza, Pizza, Pizza!  I have been on a quest to figure out the absolute BEST recipe for homemade pizza dough.  There is only so much you can do in our oven at home if you don't have a pizza oven, but I think I have a pretty good recipe for something quite delicious!  We have made a few different kinds of pizza dough before but this is definitely my new favorite.  I think the key is using less flour, and honey instead of sugar!  Anyways, have a pizza night for yourself and let me know how you like it!

[What you need]

2 1/4 cups pizza flour (also knowns as "tipo 00" flour)
3.5 tablespoons olive oil (more for coating the bowl)
2 tablespoons honey
2.5 teaspoons salt
1 packet yeast
1 cup warm water
toppings of your choice

[What to do]

In your stand mixer, add your water and honey and turn it on low to combine the two together some.  Then add in your yeast and let it mix for about 30 seconds.  Turn it off and let it sit for about 4 minutes, until the yeast is bubbly all over.

Turn your mixer on low, and add in your oil and salt.  Then slowly add in your flour.  The dough will still be sticky when you have added all of your four.  Turn your mixer on medium and let it mix for 5-6 minutes with a dough hook on it.  After it has mixed, on a floured surface (and with flour on your hands) knead the dough some, sprinkling with flour so it becomes less sticky.  Lightly oil a large bowl and add your dough to it and cover with plastic wrap.  Let it rise in a warm, draft free, space for 2 -2.5 hours.

After your dough rises, pour it out onto a floured surface and separate it into two.  Let it rise again for about 5 minutes.  Then pull them out into two circles and top with your favorite toppings.  Drizzle a little olive oil along the crust and bake in a preheated oven with a preheated pizza stone at 500 degrees for about 15 minutes or until the crust is crispy and golden on the outside.

Enjoy!
