How to put together a cheese platter that will wow your guests!

As a girl who doesn't eat cheese (I know, I know, I'm weird) putting together a cheese platter is not something I do on a regular basis.  But it is something that I think every hostess with the mostest should be able to do.  So I am here to give you some of the tips I use to put together a cheese platter that is sure to wow your guests!

To make a cheese platter that pleases everyone, variety is key.  The first thing to pick is what cheeses to use: a creamy cheese, for this one we picked a delicious brie, a cheese with a kick such as a blue cheese, and a cheese with some sort of flavor.  We picked a cheddar cheese with bacon in it.  Another good option is something with a fruit compote on top of it for a sweeter kick.

A duo or trio of some seasoned olives is a wonderful addition to any cheese platter as well as some sort of fruit (we picked some grapes) and a nut (roasted pecans in this case).

Adding some sort of meat is also important.  A salami log is a good crowd pleaser, but in this case Trader Joes had a trio of different Italian meats that I got and folded or rolled into different shapes to add some interest in the overall look of the plate.

Last but certainly not least is the crackers.  Again, variety is key!  Pick 2-3 different kinds of crackers so people can pick what they want to go with the different cheese.

Don't forget to provide some cheese knives and an olive fork!
