Skirt Steak Skewers

I love beef.  There, I said it! I have always been a carnivore and love me a good steak.  These Skirt Steak Skewers were pretty easy to make and full of flavor.  They could be done with flap meat or skirt steak (what ever is on sale if you ask me) and they are a delicious way to have steak for dinner without the price tag that usually comes along with it.

[What you Need]

2 lbs skirt steak or flap meat
2 tablespoons fresh chopped thyme
1/4 cup roughly chopped garlic
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1/4 olive oil
salt
pepper

[What to do]

Cut your meat into pieces about 6-7 inches long and 1-2 inches wide.  Salt and pepper both sides of them and put it into a large ziplock bag.  Add in all of the other ingredients and mix it around to make sure all of the meat is coated.  Let it marinate in the fridge for about 5 hours or overnight.  Since skirt steak or flap meat is a thin cut of meat, it doesn't take very long to absorb the flavor of the marinade, the longer you marinate it, the more flavorful it will be.

about 45 minutes before you want to start grilling, take it out of the fridge so that the meat will be room temperature when you start to grill.  Skewer the meat onto pre-soaked skewers (wood skewers should be soaked in water for about 1-2 hours so that they do not burn when you put them on the grill).  Don't worry about getting the garlic or thyme off of the meat, it can stay on the meat and will be super yummy.

Grill your skewers over high heat for about 10 minutes, flipping halfway through.  The time may vary depending on the thickness of your meat.  We had a few pieces that were a lot thinner than the other so those cooked faster so we took them off early.

Enjoy!  We ate ours with these Spicy Grilled Brussel Sprouts and some baked potatoes!
