Wingfest: A Tasting of our Favorite Wings, Hot Sauces, and BBQ Sauces

So recently the Mr has been obsessed with a YouTube show called First We Feast: Hot Ones.  Basically it is a talk show where a celebrity is getting interviewed and while they are answering questions, they are eating chicken wings that are in hot sauces that are continually getting hotter.  Well that has since lead to a massive variety of hot sauces and BBQ sauces that currently reside in our fridge.  And from that, WINGFEST was born.

Spicy BBQ Grilled Chicken Drumsticks

We have been on a hot sauce/BBQ sauce kick lately trying all sorts of different ones and for us, the spicier the better!  We went on a mission the other day to pretty much all of the stores in Alameda and got all sorts of different hot sauces and BBQ sauces.

Chicken Caesar Lettuce Cups

I know, you guys are probably sick of all these lettuce cup recipes I have been posting but seriously, what could be better?  They are all super quick to make, healthy, delicious, and how much fun is it to eat your dinner with your hands?! haha (ok so maybe that's just me)

Spicy Chili Lime Chicken

It's summer time and that means we are grilling all the time!  Who are we kidding, we live in California and grill year round!  We made these spicy (and I mean SPICY) Chili Lime Chicken Skewers the other night and they were oh-so-delicious.  I am a fan of all things spicy and this marinade gave me a run for my money as far as spice goes.  But with that said, it was delicious! Just don't say I didn't warn you.

Sweet and Spicy Ginger Wings

Oh of all things delicious!  We have been making wings at home for a while now and have always done them in the oven.  But these babies were cooked on the grill and I can confidently say we will never go back to cooking them any other way!

Sriracha BBQ Chicken Skewers with Bacon and Onion

Grilling is one of our favorite things.  And we just recently got a grill since we moved up to the Bay Area so naturally chicken skewers were on the top of our list of first things to grill!.  As you know I am a fan of the easy cooking and this recipe is definitely one of them.  Trader Joes has this Roasted Garlic Sriracha BBQ sauce that we LOVE.  We marinated the chicken in it (and also added some extra Sriracha for that extra little kick!) and it turned out just oh-so-delicious

Sweet and Smokey Pulled Pork Biscuit Sliders, in the Crockpot!

I think it's safe to say I'm a lover of just about anything made in the crockpot.  And these sweet and smokey pulled pork biscuit sliders definitely don't disappoint!  They are the perfect combination of smokey BBQ and sweet delicious pulled pork!  And the best part, you pile on this deliciousness onto a biscuit!!  It doesn't get any better than that!

Skirt Steak Skewers

I love beef.  There, I said it! I have always been a carnivore and love me a good steak.  These Skirt Steak Skewers were pretty easy to make and full of flavor.  They could be done with flap meat or skirt steak (what ever is on sale if you ask me) and they are a delicious way to have steak for dinner without the price tag that usually comes along with it.

4th of July FOOD Roundup!

We have put together a list of some of our favorite recipes perfect for your 4th of July BBQ!  You are sure to impress bringing any one of these (or making them all if you're hosting!) to your Patriotic Parties!

Smoked Honey BBQ Pulled Chicken Sliders, in the Crockpot!

Remember when we made Chicken Wings 3 Ways a few days ago?  Well we had a lot of the Smoked Honey BBQ sauce left so we made some pulled chicken sliders in the yummy BBQ sauce!  It was the perfect way to use up the extra sauce and since it was insanely hot this past week in San Diego, we made it in the crockpot so we didn't have to turn the oven on.  Trust me when I say, you will love this Smoked Honey BBQ Pulled Chicken Sliders!

Wings 3 Ways: Spicy Asian Ginger, Buffalo, and Smoked Honey BBQ

Nothing is better than some juicy chicken wings!  Places like Buffalo Wild Wings gives you countess options on sauces, so I decided it was about time that we had some options when we make them at home.  We made a traditional buffalo sauce, a smoked honey BBQ sauce, and an asian spicy ginger sauce (which is probably my favorite).  I highly recommend all three of these and it is totally easy to make them all for dinner one night!

Grilled Corn on the Cob with Roasted Garlic and Rosemary Butter

So I have decided it is summer, hence the corn on the cob!  It is one of my favorite summer foods, you can throw it on the grill and dress it up however you want with some yummy seasonings!  I like to top mine with some roasted garlic and rosemary butter which BTW, if you haven't discovered the wonders of roasted garlic and rosemary butter, you are missing out!  It makes just about everything better, potatoes, bread, pasta, veggies, the possibilities are endless! Anywho, on to the corn on the cob recipe!

Super Bowl Snacks: BBQ Chicken Pizza

No Super Bowl Party is complete without PIZZA!!  And this BBQ Chicken Pizza is sure to be a crowd pleaser.  It is what I like to call "cheat cooking" because I bought already cooked chicken, already made BBQ sauce and pre-made dough.  Which really just means this pizza is super easy to make but everyone will think you made it from scratch!

crockpot bbq ribs

BBQ ribs are one of those things that when they're good, they're gooooooood.  And these crockpot ribs are some of the best!  They are simple, easy and oh so delicious.  When you are cooking meats, the slower and longer you cook them, the juicier and more tender they become.  The easiest way to make some fall-off-the-bone delicious BBQ ribs is in your crockpot!  There are 2 key secrets in making these mouth watering BBQ ribs: 1. Make your own BBQ sauce! None of that store bought stuff.  BBQ sauce is fairly simple to make and when you make it yourself it makes a HUGE difference in how the ribs come out and 2. After the ribs are done cooking in the crockpot, baste them with BBQ sauce and broil them in the oven! Don't leave off this step.  It is the key to getting that delicious caramelization and crispy texture on the outside of the ribs.

They are pretty easy to make and turn out delicious. We prefer to pull out the bones and eat them with a fork and knife which is super easy because after cooking them for 8 hours, the meat just falls off.  But for those of you boys out there who like to eat them "like a man" on the bone, cooking them in the crockpot, you can eat them both ways, the best of both worlds!
