Sweet and Smokey Pulled Pork Biscuit Sliders, in the Crockpot!

I think it's safe to say I'm a lover of just about anything made in the crockpot.  And these sweet and smokey pulled pork biscuit sliders definitely don't disappoint!  They are the perfect combination of smokey BBQ and sweet delicious pulled pork!  And the best part, you pile on this deliciousness onto a biscuit!!  It doesn't get any better than that!

[What you need]

3-4lb bone in pork butt
3/4 cup brown sugar (more to taste)
2 tablespoons garlic powder
2 tablespoons onion powder
1 tablespoon chili powder
2 tablespoons paprika
salt
pepper
olive oil
1 large onion
3 tablespoons chopped garlic
1-2 cans Dr. Pepper
BBQ Sauce (I used a Jack Daniels one that was delicious)
1 teaspoon liquid smoke

[What to do]

Combine the brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, paprika, salt and pepper in a bowl and mix it together.  rub onto the pork butt, covering it completely and place into a large plastic bag.  Add in any extra rub you have left.  Add in a little bit of olive oil so that the rub coats all of the pork.

Marinate the pork in the fridge overnight before you want to cook your pork.  Dice you onion and put half of it in your crock pot along with half of the garlic.  Place your pork (and all of the marinade) into the crockpot and top with the rest of the onion and garlic.  Sprinkle on a little bit more brown sugar, just for good measure.  Then fill the rest of the crockpot with Dr. Pepper and cook on low for 12 hours.

When the pork is done cooking, strain out the liquid and remove the bone and any large fatty pieces that didn't get cooked down.  Keep the onions and garlic in with the pork.  Shred the pork in the crockpot, which it should just be falling apart at this point.  Add in your bbq sauce, liquid smoke, and a little bit more brown sugar, salt and pepper to taste.  Make sure everything is all mixed together and then continue to cook on low for another hour.

Cook your biscuits according to the packaging and then top them with your pork and enjoy!
