First and foremost, the only acceptable birthday cake is Funfetti. If you disagree, you are wrong. haha This cake did not start out as a rainbow sprinkle cake but that is what it turned out to be! And I have to say, I loved it. The pictures really don't do it justice.
If you are wondering what the best (read: least messy) way to get a cake completely covered in sprinkles is, the answer is: there is no good way. I attempted and failed and then went to the computer and googled which basically lead to just patting them all on there. IT IS GOING TO GET MESSY.
With everything said and done, I really liked the way it turned out. The cute Happy Birthday flag banners came from Pippa & Co in Alameda which if you haven't been there, it is definitely worth the trip!
